Career Benefits A PTLLS helps you take the first step towards becoming a qualified teacher or teaching assistant in the Lifelong Learning Sector.

Resources are available on moodle.
Assessment The course is formatively assessed to monitor your progress. There are no exams, but you will need to build a portfolio of evidence to show how you meet the assessment criteria. There is a total of five assignments covering the teaching role; teaching and learning approaches; session planning; and delivering inclusive sessions and assessment. You will also have to deliver a minimum of 15 minutes observed micro teaching practice and a further 45 minutes of observing others teach.
Transferrable Skills You will develop a degree of self-reflection and begin to recognise your own strengths and weaknesses. Key skills such as problem-solving and working with others as well as functional skills in literacy, numeracy and ICT are embedded in the course. All of these are skills that allow you to progress in education, training and employment and make a positive contribution to your community.
